Maximum flexibility in a minimalist design:

Sliding door handles by FSB

Sliding doors exponentially enhance levels of flexibility and floor-space efficiency in enclosed spaces, be it in new-build ventures, in the context of overhauling, renovating or re-dedicating existing structures, in select interior-finishing and residential-construction jobs or in smaller civic/commercial properties. New minimalism-driven blueprints for sliding door handles by product designer Michael Schmidt see FSB delivering technically optimised purism in both looks and function.

Installing sliding doors is now all the rage both in Germany and worldwide. Select residential construction is increasingly predicated on smaller ground-plans these days, most notably in major conurbations. However, despite accommodation becoming steadily less spacious, there is still no need to compromise on convenience, safety or aesthetics. Sliding doors are just the answer in that they facilitate flexible transitions and are perfect for open-plan spatial schemes. They simultaneously turn to practical effect the growing trend towards minimalism in the fashioning of creative interior spaces, providing ideal solutions for a barrier-free home and reducing any risk of injury.

Premium hardware manufacturer FSB, a noted force for innovation in the sphere of door and window fittings, sets benchmarks for the future-responsive utilisation of space with its latest product development. FSB optimises the action and ergonomic handling of sliding doors with sliding door handles in innovative new styles.

Optimised operating technique
The actions of sliding, locking and opening are for the first time performed by a single component flush-recessed into the leaf of the door in FSB’s new products for sliding doors. There is no longer any need for an additional operating element for the locking action. The grip section (fixed) or thumbturn (rotatable) is tilted outwards or rotated when activated and is thus more conducive to ergonomic use. With its optimised operating technique, FSB creates unique scope for intuitive operation that opens up completely new means of proceeding when sliding a door back and forth. Whilst the gripping area is enlarged by the outward tilting of the grip, the design nevertheless remains singularly minimalist. The operating element blends in perfectly with sophisticated interior schemes by echoing their salient features.
