FSB, celebrated heritage brand from Brakel in eastern Westphalia, has 140 years of corporate success to look back on. In appointing a new management team comprising Tobias Gockeln and Jürgen Hess and strategically refocusing its business, the premium hardware manufacturer has staked out a course for the future that is set to excite existing and future customers both at home and abroad.

The FSB brand is a byword the world over for timelessly designed, functionally top-notch system solutions for doors and windows as well as for barrier-free sanitary fitments of the highest order – made in Germany, made in Brakel. Its sundry activities have been geared towards futurecapable solutions ever since it was established 140 years ago, and now is no exception: Franz Schneider Brakel GmbH + Co KG is living up to its corporate DNA by focusing all its energies upon providing authoritative advice and optimum support for architects, builder’s clients, planners, fabricators and trade stockists throughout the architectural performance chain.

The new executive duo of Tobias Gockeln (34) and Jürgen Hess (57) constitute a key plank in this policy of further development. Of particular interest is the fact that, when Tobias Gockeln was appointed as Managing Director at the start of 2021, he was the first member of the owning family to fulfil such a role for 40 years. A year later, the Advisory Board and owning family were able to acquire the services of Jürgen Hess, a manager and expert with extensive experience of architecture and design who has enjoyed great success in a number of related sectors to date.

Tobias Gockeln and Jürgen Hess have the mutual objective of actively fashioning current transformation processes and of successfully charting FSB's future. “We aspire to take the company's success another step forward by building upon the sturdy foundations of the FSB brand, its fine products and the passion and multifarious skills of the entire FSB team,” Jürgen Hess enthuses. “We aim to be the best partners for our customers by constantly focusing on our unique solutions and the issue of sustainability.” “And,” Tobias Gockeln adds, “with the FSB brand set to remain as innovative as ever whilst also upping activities on the digital front in future, we will manage to win younger generations over to our solutions, too, in this way.”

The two MDs are intent on doing whatever is needed to make FSB as attractive an employer as possible for everyone currently working with the firm as well as for those who join in future. “We are in the process of drafting a modern workplace scheme that gives staff great scope for shaping events,” Tobias Gockeln says, adding that “people and their sense of allegiance to FSB have always been the most important ingredients in our ongoing success story – and will continue to be in future.”
