The FSB 1108/1178 product range (FSB 1178 is an EN 179-compliant variant with return-to-door) was authored by our in-house designer Hartmut Weise. He was musing over what it is that gives the ‘Frankfurt model’ and ‘Wittgenstein’s handle’ their particular appeal. ‘Unpretentious looks,’ he noted. He then created an unfussy design that was at least as good: FSB 1108/1178 – a round tube coupled with a mitred grip section with an oval cross-section. Could this be the ‘Brakel model’?
