FSB pays tribute to the revered Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. And yet FSB 1267 is more than just a replica of an original Mies van der Rohe door lever. Whilst retaining the formal thrust of its forebears, our interpretation also conforms to present-day standards and the requirements of modern architecture.

Exceedingly elegant and highly articulate

Hartmut Weise has set his hand to creating a lever-handle collection that is both exceedingly elegant and highly articulate. FSB 1267 takes the original flowing transition from circular neck to flat grip and re-interprets it, in the process reducing the forefinger furrow to a mere notion. The actual grip has been levelled out. Lever handles for flush and framed doors are supplemented by an EN 179 variant with return to door. The range is rounded off by plug-in handles for doors and windows, a fitting for glass doors and our conventional window handles. FSB 1267 is available in Aluminium, Bronze and Stainless Steel.

Tribute to Mies van der Rohe

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe addressed himself at length to door handles and their detailing. Many of his building projects were, for instance, lent an utterly distinctive note by versions of one of his original designs in white bronze. Mies van der Rohe devised a new handle for the New National Gallery in Berlin and chose naturally silver-coloured Aluminium as his material. Hartmut Weise marked the Bauhaus centenary in 2019 by taking two door-lever models by Mies van der Rohe and merging them into a single new product. The upshot Weise arrived at – FSB 1267 – was a fusion of models the former Bauhaus director had used in his Lemke House project and in his New National Gallery.
