The architectural tendency towards paring down visible structures and formally integrating functional engineering elements is also evidenced on entrances and exits, notably in the form of non-rebated doors or concealed hinges. FSB has now come up with applicable hardware solutions in the form of flush furniture - equipped with the FSB AGL® compensating bearing for heavy-duty applications or supplied in a fire safety variant - and flush roses for standard doors.
Sinking roses made easy
Central to the flush rose concept is a high-precision assembly process in which the rose is literally sunk into the door. Preparing and machining doors is easier than might be imagined, however. Fabricators require no CNC technology to be able to complete the job accurately. We at FSB have developed a drilling template (order code 0462) that yields excellent results with minimum input. Any good-quality door is essentially suitable.
Flush furniture in AGL® Plus and FS versions
Doors onto which flush furniture is to be fitted need to be at least 45 mm thick here. The hardware features an inseparable handle-and-rose unit, with the handle free to rotate within Teflon-coated metal bearings (AGL® Plus, FSB 7201) or bearings for fire-safety and smoke doors (FS, FSB 7601) and is supplied ready for fixing with FSB 1731/1735 roses. Europrofile dimensions 72 mm and 92 mm are possible (also available as half-sets for main entrance doors).
Flush roses for standard doors
Standard flush roses (FSB 1736 and FSB 1737) can be fitted to doors between 38 mm and 44 mm thick. The loose handle and key rose pairs can be combined with FSB lever handle sets or indicating bolts and are available as 72mm europrofile cylinders. The key rose is supplied with either a warded ("BB") or europrofile ("PZ") keyway. The handles are fitted in the proven FSB manner. It is also just as easy to dismantle handle and rose sets.
The niche potential of flush hardware and roses is particularly conducive to highlighting the fabricator’s craft acumen in select and design/architecture-focus interior finishing jobs. From a marketing point of view, the fabricator’s knowledge of dealing with flush hardware and roses provides them with a niche and hence a competitive advantage. In the context of renovation projects, the hardware does a fine job of providing a modern accent in a space. All FSB lever handle models with and without AGL® Plus heavy-duty bearings can be obtained as flush variants in either Aluminium, AluGrey®, Stainless Steel or Bronze (with varying intensities of surface patination).
Our applications engineers will be pleased to be given the opportunity to convince fabricators of what an outstanding idea flush furniture and roses are through a specimen fitting exercise performed locally. Simply arrange a personal appointment using the contact data alongside.
