The FSB Edition comprises 16 volumes.

Starting in 1987, a new volume was released as a written testimony of our thoughts each year, in time for the Frankfurt Book Fair, just as our great mentor Otl Aicher had directed: in all of these volumes, theory was developed from practical experience.

Not the other way round, as is the usual practice in intellectual works. In this way perhaps the most comprehensive design library celebrating an ordinary run-of-the-mill product has been created in the course of 16 years – all about the door handle.
