由家具配件起家
从公司创始人弗兰·施奈德于1881年在绍尔兰进入配件行业开始，由黄铜打造的传统、朴实无华的家具配件面世了。其成功有据可依：在世纪交接时，所开发生产的产品数目已经非常可观，完全可以编写一本厚厚的产品目录。
20年代——包豪斯时期
1909年，公司创始人弗兰·施耐德从绍尔兰搬到威悉山地。在布拉克尔，他找到了一家空置的工厂，这不仅仅是一家工厂，也是FSB的总部。他在字母B前标志性地加上了自己姓名的首字母，用FSB这个新公司名称开始骄傲地销售第一款银黑两色的门窗把手。
50年代——战后的建筑热潮
在1945年后的战后重建热潮中，FSB发现了轻金属材料。在袋灯和椭圆形桌充斥的年代，在布拉克尔的每个人都崇尚动感、多彩的门，直到今天还能在商店看到这些古老的门。
60年代——匿名的工业产品设计者约翰·博腾
1953年至1963年期间，FSB的雕刻师、工具制造师和培训师约翰·博腾创造了他的经典手型设计。每个人都熟知他的设计，但没人知道他的名字。直到他死后，他的匿名工业产品设计才赢得了同行的称赞：他的设计被收藏于最具意义的珍品收藏馆， 例如纽约现代艺术博物馆。
80年代——乌尔姆学派的灰色产品目录
在奥托·艾舍精神领导下，FSB重新回归20年前，但并未抛弃自己的百年传统。艾舍为我们设计了一个风格独特的把手（哲学家路德维希·维特根斯坦后来也非常称赞的把手）作为纪念，再次体现门把手是人手的延长这个意义，艾舍的这个把手，打开了我们把手设计的新篇章。
90年代——grasping architecture
As the 20th century slowly drew to a close, our brand was fast evolving into a synonym for aesthetically and functionally high-quality door and window hardware perfectly crafted in contemporary materials. Evidence of the extraordinary intellectual intensity with which the issue of “handle culture” was addressed is provided by FSB’s 16-volume series of books from that period. The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung dubbed us a “publishers with a sideline in door handles” and, indeed, these publications were more than just us simply reflecting on what it is we do: like the whole of the 1990s, instead, they constituted the very foundations for our holistic vision of architecture and design.
New millennium - analogue, digital, barrier-free
Technological and social change can surely never have proceeded at such a pace - with the exception of the Industrial Revolution - as these days. FSB has always had a soft spot for striding out boldly, for taking up trends and transforming them into useful “tools acting as extensions of the human hand”: the barrier-free ErgoSystem® is our response to an ageing society. Conversely, we are guiding our classic fittings into the digital age with electronic access control systems and biometric Fingerscan door pulls. So there we now are, as the second decade of this new millennium gets underway, with a single-source range serving all aspects of handle culture in built space at our disposal.
